honestly i agree with @Stacy. American cars don't have the greatest gas mileage, the break down easily, and just not reliable. But as for your question, don't pay more than $1500 for it, because of its high mileage. if it were a japanese car then 186k would be a piece of cake on a japanese cars, but american cars just dont have a decent life expectancy. If your trying to buy this for you highschool son, go ahead and do it, but as a daily driver I wouldnt recommend it, it can break down anytime
Offer 1500 and be willing to come up to 1700.
Inspect the title before making an offer.
i would never pay more than 1500 for a 15 year old ford especially with 186k miles every one ive owned was a "POS" it would have to be in mint condition for me to pay almost 2 grand. my advice would to buy foreign they last longer and you dont have to keep fixing window motors door handles ect.
So it's a dealer?
I looked at a ford explorer yesterday, and I'm going back tomorrow to make an offer. Here's part of the ad

I love this car. The brakes are like new, and it just had an oil change about 500 miles ago. Lots of small things have also been replaced(wiper motors, window motors, door handles, typical stuff that goes bad on these cars. It has 186k miles.
The guy is asking $1995 but on Kelly blue book it's only worth 1500-1700 depending on condition, and I think it's very good.
