what ever sound slow and yet the engine does not chug and shake.
It depends if you have automatic transmission...if you do set it then go in car and hold onto brake pedal and slip into drive. If engine dies as you try to accelerate from dead stop, then it is too low. Usually about 800 to 1000 should be good on a healthy engine. The car should not move forward on the flat when you let your foot off the brake from dead stop otherwise it is too fast.
It depends on the car. Most are 700-800 RPM
