If the car is still under warranty this might not cost anything to fix.
if you wait until wheel bearing goes compleatly out it will cost a lot more, because it will damage more parts
Go to AutoZone.com
Go to napaonline, plug that car into the site, and then search "front wheel bearing" (I assume front, but whichever). Write down the price. Then search out a complete spindle (may or may not be offered for that car), as that is the assembly that will be needed if the bearings fail. Obviously if the bearings fail there might be more catastrophic damage (may crash when it fails) but that isn't going to sway her apparently. You may have a hard time finding the spindle, but then again, that may have "sealed" bearings that you can't replace individually anyway, and a full spindle may be required. Just have to do a little research. A wrecking yard of decent size should be able to tell you price for a used one.
You are sure it's the bearing and not the CV joint? Jack the car up and take a look for yourself.
I've asked about 5 mechanics about a noise I'm hearing because my moms just kept blowing it off and they all said it sounds like she needs a new wheel bearing but here's the catch, she's cheap and won't fix it until it's completely broken! So since I'm probably going to end up paying for it I'd like to know how much she's going to make me pay. Thanks!
