This can be very expensive if it is a head gasket.
Gasket kit, plus labour plus machine work on the head. It should be skimmed if not flat plus anny other damage found.
Antifreeze is also a corrosion inhibitor.
That turns out to be a great saving there.
Ian K is right. A head gasket kit costs about $100. The head must be machined flat--if possible. If it is too warped it must be replaced. Then there is the labor. You are looking at $500-$1000.
Hi that was lucky if all it blow was the head gasket 99% of the time it does a lot more damage than a head gasket. damaged cylinder blocks get cracked radiators have big holes in them and worst of all the heater matrix gets destroyed.
Well... the headgasket went for a reason. Likely head is warped from excess heat, hopefully your bearings/piston rings/cylinder walls are ok.
