How much does a sqeaking belt cost to fix?

You can tension the belt yourself for 30 minutes work (for a beginner) no cost. BU>T look at the wear in the belt first, as if it is really worn it will need replacing instead.

Just my opinion but that yr of vehicle should also have the idler pulley & tentioner replaced too. Especially over 100,000 miles. Always use Gates Belts.

It's not that hard to change one of those belt's

IT SHOULD BE A WORM DRIVE TYPE OF TENSIONER. TIGHTENING THAT UP MAY DEAL WITH THE ISSUE BUT IF THE BELT IS GLAZED, ID REPLACE IT.

if the belt is loose and slipping , tighten it up. if it seems tight enough buy a can of spray belt dressing and spray it good..

I am guessing at around $100.00

yes it is a pretty easy DIY job.

Hello, when I start my car in the mornings there's a belt that squeaks really bad for some seconds, I haven't had any kind of problems so don't know what belt it would be but wondering before I go to get it fixed about how much that would cost or is it an easy fix to do myself? It's a 2002 Nissan Maxima, thank you!
