It depends on the make, model, and year. 3000 is a throwback to the early 1980s - few, if any, cars call for 3000 miles changes. All the ones I have call for 5000 mile severe duty, 7500 normal duty. Some engines with oil life calculators will go 12,000 miles between changes occasionally, then be down in the 4000 mile range next time because the driving conditions changed so much. Go with what the manufacturer recommends, every time.
The source has a lot of good information, but you will notice it does not even discuss change intervals unless supported by used oil analysis.
Oil is like gasoline - doesn't matter where you buy it or what the brand is. How often depends on your car - consult the owner's manual. Don't trust the people doing the oil change to tell you how many miles you should go - they have a vested interest. It can vary from between 3 and 7 thousand miles AT LEAST. If you don't have an owner's manual, consult the interwebs. There are different weights of oil (read the "motor oil" article on wikipedia for an intro or google it).
As Brian said, 3000 for regular oil - 5000 for full synthetic oils. I would do one on a 2000 mile trip if I was hauling a heavy trailer because it will be black from the stressful load haul.
Rule of thumb....3000 miles. A good synthetic will last longer. Buy something decent, it is one of the most important aspects of your car.
With the best 100% Synthetic Oil in the World AMSOIL you can go 25,000 miles on the same oil and filter.
Oil change intervals depends on HOW you drive as well as how many miles. Read this post on when to change oil

Most new cars have oil life indicators. I would never use Castrol which is owned by the BP (British Petroleum) oil spill company. Not one new car comes from the factory with Castrol in the engine. Not one new car in the past 20 years calls for 3,000 mile wasteful oil changes.
Find out what your manufacture suggest. New cars can go 3-5000 miles between oil changes. Depending on city or highway driving. I would check your oil once a week when you fill up with gas. If your oil is good at 3 thousand then keep going. Once again. Check what your manufacture recommends and fallow that if you are just driving your car. If you regularly race and "abuse" your vehicle. Then more frequent oil changes would be nessasary.
you should get at least 5000 but probably not more than 7000mi. between changes. keep your eye on the dipstick as you don't want to run low. its ok to add oil as necessary between changes...
I've always used castrol oil, however talk to your mechanic on the kind (like 5w20 or 10w30 or w/e). Always 3000 miles. If it gets to 4000 it's not too bad, but 3000 is best
How often should you get an oil change? Does the brand of oil you use make a big difference?
Hello,
Premature ejaculation can be cured with natural methods. One really good one you can follow is http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=565
When a man is suffering from premature ejaculation, he is often climaxing before his partner and in the case of most men it is difficult if not impossible for them to continue intercourse after ejaculating. That’s because chemicals are released when a man ejaculates and these are the same chemicals that make a person feel sleepy and/or not aroused. It’s not that they have suddenly lost interest; just their brain is telling them that the sex is over. This effect is more prominent after intercourse than after masturbation because intercourse actually causes four times more of these chemicals to be released. If premature ejaculation occurs frequently, it can lead to embarrassment for the man and sexual frustration for both partners.
