my is 300 miles
is that normal or drain or good
thanks
I drive a 2005 Mercury Mariner with a 16.5 gallon tank and I have 335 miles until empty. All cars vary based on tank size and gas mileage. That is okay for a car that is a truck and has poor mileage or a car that is a little older like a 2003 Honda CRV or a 2004 Ford Ranger.
mine can go 475 miles on 10.5 gallons of gas
Depends on:
Size of the engine in cubic inches
Size of the gas tank
Weather conditions
Final drive Gear ratio
Speed
type of terrain
city or highway driving
State of tune (how well maintained)
miles registered on odometer (age of the engine)
If you can provide all this information, we may be able to tell you if your car is doing good or not.
One of the fun things I like to try: my Taurus gets around 18 mpg for stop-and-go errands around town............have gotten up to 28 mpg on the highway......the most I've actually gone between fill-ups is 360 miles........the mpg computer is dead accurate and when I fill it to the brim at a freeway service center it will say I have as much as 420 miles before empty (it uses the average mpg in memory) . . . . I'm not gonna press it to find out !!
Under bad conditions 450 Miles under good conditions in excess of 600 on 13 gallons.
Drive a 180 bhp diesel.
Well, the odometer in my T-Bird is broke, but I doubt it would make it much past 350 miles.
How far a car can go on a tank of gas depends on two factors, the size of the tank, and the average fuel economy. Smaller, economy cars often have smaller tanks than big pickups, but have comparable range because they get better fuel efficiency. I wouldn't worry about rang so much as fuel economy.
Calculate your fuel efficiency and post it on here, with the make, model, year and engine size of your car, and people with a similar car can tell you if that's good or not.
if you pump full gas and drive all till low fuel gas how many miles can your car drive ????
