It is possible that the leak is coming from the gasket and not the pump itself. If the shop put on an old gasket or did not properly seat the pump when installing, it will leak.
Anyway, we can't give you an estimate on anything. We don't know the car, we don't know the work rate per hour for your shop.
2-3 years
TAKE IT BACK TO THE GARAGE!! It should have a warranty. If it is just leaking and still pumping water the gasket was installed incorrectly....Good luck..
Pump on my 2000 Focus with the Zetec engine was replaced when the timing belt was chanted @120k - 10yrs old didn't leak just preventative. No issues when it was old 25k miles later. I suspect that is about right. unless there is some issues with alignment and the serpentine belt.
I bet money that the shop used the wrong coolant. This is exactly what happens when the wrong coolant is used. Read these articles on water pump damage and coolant

It all depends..
Depends on the quality; on the person whose uses it.......check the following website to see how to prolong the durable year of water pumps
We just had one put on like a year ago, and already the thing is leaking again. It may have been a little over a year, so I'll have to look up the paperwork to be sure. The timing belt was also changed with that.
Why would it be leaking again already? I checked all hoses already and couldn't find anything leaking from them. It appears to be seeping out of the water pump housing. Shouldn't these things last over a year?
It was put on at a reputable garage and a new part was ordered from the dealer when it was put on.
I don't remember how much the part and labor is for something like this, however. Can anyone give an estimate?
