A normal car battery is 12 Volts and say 50 Amp/Hour
This means a 12 Volt 1 Amp light bulb would stay On for 50 hours on a full charge
It sounds like what you are talking about is a Mobile Amp with a built in speaker. And the owners manual should give you the working times on the battery

It will depend upon how much current you are taking from the battery. You can draw 1 amp from the battery for 1 hour. If the battery is 12 v, that would give you 12 watts of power to your speakers for 1 hour.
The best way to judge is to try it out in advance. Put on some tunes from an MP3 player or something, set it to party level (I hope you are not in an apartment if you do this!) and keep track of the time. For example, if you are in an apartment and turn it up loud at 2:00 in the morning... oh... not like that.
Hi sorry how you expect an answer from such vague information. how long is a piece of string all that battery holds is 1amp looks at lot when expressed in milliamps i know but in real terms it is small. so time to hire a DJ with his own kit that he plugs into the mains to get the wattage. a party needs 30 watts at least. and to get a quality sound otherwise it sounds real NAFF.
I recently bought a new speaker and it says on the paper that its battery is 1000mAh, and that it needs at least a 6-8 hours recharge. In a week or so, im throwing a party (bday party) (Im a DJ) and since im just starting, this is all i have so far, so i wanna know how long does this speaker's battery last for so i can plan stuff out and know when to have a pause so it doesnt turn off mid party. And does it matter if i charge it while its on? On the box it says to turn it off and charge, but does it really matter? Sorry for long post, thnaks for help.
