How hard is it to drive manually?

Does the car turn off if you dont do something right? Or on the hills how diffrent is it

Not hard, just practice on level roads first, don't start with a hill too early. Also try different hills, the lower the grade the easier it will be to get going especially with the simple handbrake to hold the car while you give gas and release once it starts moving. Not 100% sure how that would work on a FWD car since a automatic can drive off easily when the handbrake is engaged, RWD with handbrake engaged doesn't move.

Also make sure to release the clutch and give gas smoothly and at the same time, I didn't do this a few days ago and I got some back pain.

driving a manual gearbox car can be difficult at first but with some practice becomes quite easy.

to get the car moving you disengage the clutch and select a gear. then you slowly engage the clutch and add gas to get the car moving. releasing the clutch too quickly can stall the car meaning it shuts off. on hills you need to be extra careful to not stall because its harder to get the car moving.

if you are thinking about learning how to drive manual I suggest you go practice with an experienced driver. it can be very frustrating at first if you don't know what you are doing wrong. it also helps if you watch some videos on YouTube on how to drive manual. This video is good.

If you engage the clutch too firmly or are in too high of a gear at a low speed, the engine could reach a speed where it can't run. Embarrassing to do in traffic, but all you've gotta do is just start it up again. Conversely downshifting into too low of a great while at speed may force the engine to spin too fast, causing severe damage, but you'll likely notice that, and the rapid deceleration of vehicle forward speed being converted to engine RPMs.

Not hard, but you will have to practice it.

You are going to stall your car all the time, miss shift and grind the gears.

On steep hill, it rolls back as soon as you release the brake.

After that, you drive it just fine.

You have to pay attention to hills, as sometimes you can damage the engine if you hold the gas pedal to the floor, and expect it to keep going... you need to know how and when to shift down for hills... It's easy if you know what to do. Get a good instructor.

It seems hard, but it's not. When I was a kid my grandpa used to have my brothers & I shift for him. He'd tell us to watch his feet to know when to shift so when we started driving it was easy to get the hang of it. One drawback; manual is a pain in the a** in a traffic jam.

Shouldn't be hard. I've played videogames with manual shift.

It will be hard for the first 2-3 weeks but you'll get used to it afterwards. Some people get it right within days

Youll get it
