I don't know you - it is possible that you can't chew gum and walk at the same time - if so it would be impossible for you to learn. It is also possible that you could be a BMX stun rider with coordination and balance oozing out of every pore of your body - in which case learning how to drive a stick would be like a walk in the park.
Best bet - go to HOW STUFF WORKs and get an understanding on how a clutch and manual transmission works - so you have the theory down pat before starting to learn - it will help to understand what happens, when and why.
Everyone who drove use to drive a stick, a long time ago. if they could do it, so can you, it is more intimidating then anything else. Don't be scared, it takes a little time but it is like riding a bike, once you get it, you got it.
It's really not hard. Anyone can pick it up. Ask him to teach you. My dad taught me in one day. U just need the concept of how to do it. Then you practice when you go ou driving and you get better and better and then before you know it, you look like a nascar driver lol
It's easier than riding a motorcycle, either ask him or a friend of yours to teach you. Just remember the hardest part is after you get really used to it and then you drive a car with an auto, every time you stop you'll find yourself trying to hit the clutch, it'll become 2nd nature
My mom's ex husband is giving me his camaro. But it stick shift and plus I don't even know how to drive. On your best guess how hard will it be for me to drive a stick?
How hard was it for you?
