How do i find technical step by step info on removing my jaguar xjs v12 ,1995,catalytic converter?

It is illegal to interfere with any of the air purifying systems of a vehicle. There are quite heavy fines for doing so. If you think the catalytic converter is blocked or not operating properly, you need to take it to a qualified mechanic.

Get the saws all and cut it off. Gee, how hard was that and did I need training to do it? For Gods sake, how dumb are you? Don't F'up the exhaust studs or you will pay to get them extracted from the head or header flange.

There's a reason why it's better to pay a guy that has a clue to do the work.

It is NOT illegal to do your own repairs to the system. If it was, I couldn't buy a catalytic converter.

You can cut out the bad part. I don't know what tools you have. They make a tool (not very expensive) to expand the exhaust pipe so that you can slide in the replacement part and use clamps to reinstall the part(s). They are available locally and any well stocked auto parts store. You might even be able to borrow one.

It sounds like you have two exhaust system branches, one for each bank of engine cylinders. Each branch has a cat converter, resonator and a muffler.

I can't address the soaking of the cat converter in bleach. Never heard of it being done or successful.

soaking carbon blocked pipes in a solution such as bleach will only dissolve the carbo and not alter or destroy the catylist themselves, saving me thousands i do not have..roll off rolo with your bad attitude,

illegal to interfere

I believe the cat convert is still intact(catylist) and blocked with carbon buildup.i want to remove the convert. for soaking in bleach. it seems there is a convert at initial bend after manifold, then possibly a smaller one shortly after, followed by a rectangular muffler then finally a round muffler near bumper.(l & r sides) is there a second cat?do i un bolt at manifold or can i cut and later re weld? it seems to all be welded together with no mechanical breaks? any help greatly appereciated. unemployed and eaten crow. THANK YOU
