For an amateur, not easy at all. You have to take out the whole instrument binnacle which may well mean taking off the airbagged steering wheel, which is no job for a non pro mechanic.
I have changed failed bulbs behind the speedo on 2 cars a Zafira and a Sedona both were a complete pain in the **** to get to requiring the careful removal of various dash trims and then the speedo/instrument unit, expect lots of hidden screws and clips and about 1 hour for removal and the same to refit.
Speedometer illumination lights are usually white and the colour comes from translucent plastic around the dial.
i want to buy some blue ones but have no idea how to change them... how hard is it?
