How do cars get that braap braap sound??? like in the movie fast and furious, that cool sounds all the cars make....?

I'm a great fan of cars, and I always want my cars to be cool... I'd be a great help guys, if you help me with this :-)

It's a custom exhaust, usually with a 5" asspipe.

actualy as Daniel said its a custom exhaust, but more than just the exhaust... it takes a special muffler. every muffler has a different sound, i believe most kids want racing muffler... but at the same time the catalytic converter will quiet the engine and exhaust way way to much... since its illegal to remove the cat most people go with a high performance high flow catalytic converter can be bought for about 100.00... the chrome tip at the end is just for looks... it also helps to go with a wider exhaust ....

just take your car to a muffler shop like bells exhaust and tell them you want the fast and ferious car sound ontop of a high flow cat.... they can do it... but be prepared to spend between 150 to 300 depending on your pricing what all you do to it... i customize my exhausts on every vehicle i own so mine tend to be expensive hahahahhahahahaa,\

older people typicaly like the mean muscle car sound which is more of your flow master muffler's. which there is many different flow master's... like a super 44.... 40 series... many different one's and each one has a different sound.

i suggest you go to you tube to search different muffler sounds in this category to find what you want but dont expect it to be exact the same.. each engine different and it takes time to burn in too... they change sounds a lil over time some times..

ill be honest with u the catalytic converter quiets the engine a lot.. a high flow cat will help a lot... but if you live some where that dont have emissions to pass a lot of people just remove them.... but then it depends on what your driving cause that can affect the 02 sensors which will hurt gas mileage and hurt how engine runs and if you remove it you will want to make it a true dual exhaust so you can add two muffler's cause the engine does require a lil back pressure to be held to run right.. but then as i said u need to focus on 02 sensors depending on your vehicle it can be tricky to mess with. it can be done but its not a piece of cake for every one and the problem is you got to find a shop that is willing to ilegaly work on your exhaust without a catalytic converter on it... it is illegal and causes isssues and many shops wont do it any more... (luckly i no of one that helps me out)

your best bet is forget about removing the cat and just replace it with a high flow cat and the muffler you want.. other wise do not even mess with the exhaust cause without changing the cat to high flow the sound wont change much at all other than when u really get on it u may hear a difference.

1- tuner's usually have higher horsepower engines which will sound different.

2 - could be movie sound effects too

gotta go with that wheezer
