If possible, check fuel pressure before and after the filter.. otherwise just replace it, odds are its dirty anyway and is a good place to start

yes a dirty fuel filter can do that ! it also could be the fuel pump but change the fuel filter first ! it sounds like it,s losing fuel pressure !

I have a Isuzu axiom and when I'm about to turn the ignition on it takes couple seconds to start up and there's some other times it starts rite up I was told it might be the fuel filter any suggestion on what it might be?
