The simple truth is that luxury cars are expensive for a reason, and so as the site:

http://www.discountconverter.com/direct_...

shows, you can pay a lot more for full retail price of a 2000 A8 catalytic convertor than mey be accessible via the net. You still have the problem of freight cost, of course.

"the car is very sluggish on reverse."

Would that be because you are using very little acceleration, perchance?

What is it like when you let it idle going forward in 1st gear? Is it sluggish as well?

If so, it could be either spark plugs, leads, or that the compression is slightly down on one cylinder at low revs and it irons out the problem under acceleration.

At least you can say that you owned a top quality car.

Perhaps go for a Honda Accord next time . . .

When it Nickle / Dimes you to death and the repairs are more than the Bluebook value.

When it quits running completely. Until then drive it like you stole it.

When parts fall off...

Sounds like you know its time already.

will start to cost you more to keep it on the road, i.e. parts, maintenance, ect...,than buying a new one lol

you should be able to use a universal converter.
