How do I go about getting a quote?

Take the car to the garage and ask for an estimate - they do it all the time. If it isn't local it might be worth ringing first and arranging a time - you don't want to turn up and find that the bloke who can do it is out on a job somewhere.

just bring it in ....

they look up and down it and give you a guestiment here and then .....

takes 2 minutes , they work on cars all day everyday ...they should know the pricing by now ..off the top of there heads

Take it to two or three different repair shops. If you're POSITIVE you can't afford the price don't waste their time.

Yes just bring the car in. They will give you a free quote. That is done with every car that is brought in.

hello.

I think you just need to go to different car repair businesses and see what they offer. I don't really know how to explain this but if it helps. My dads a plumber and he wrights quotes for people if their boiler needs mending. The person will also look at different plumbers and call them in to help or look at their website. Then all the plumbers wright a quote and then sends it to the customer. If quote is good like the price is cheap, good quality(preferably good quality, and best service, customer ratings etc.), then the customer will then hire the plumber to do the job. Think of hiring like an eBay auction. The best one get the most people and the best person gets it. I know my answers not very clear because I don't know about a thing in this industry and I'm still young. Anyway - hope I helped to give you the general idea. A hint - if you ask for quotes make sure that however many people you ask you hire or whatever at least one of the person you asked for help. Or you WILL be wasting their time.

I want to take my car in and for them to repair some damage but I obviously would like a quote.

I'm positive I won't be able to afford it but can I just bring it in or will they think I'm wasting their time?
