How can I get the air out of a car's cooling system? (2000 Toyota Camry, 4 cylinder)?

start the car put the heater on full heat and defrost...go to fire wall in engine compartment and remove lower heater core hose when coolant comes through which will be almost instant put the hose back on when if your heater starts blowing hot air the system is working properly( some times there is no need to loosen the heater hose if the heater is working then the system is fine.)

Take off the rad cap, start it, then once it stops bubbling then you have bled the system. That's ONE way to do it. Also have coolant ready cause you might lose a little. Is your car burning up coolant? Just curious.

With radiator full keep cap off and heat on run at 2k rpm for 2 minutes them cap it. Should be bled

Check for a bleeder valve on your cooling system components if car has one you can open it up while car is running and watch until all air is released. (Note: don't open it completely just enough for air to escape.)

I replaced the thermostat on Toyota Camry 4 cylinder (2000) and it started to overheat. I confess to panicking and put the old one back in: it was stuck open and the car would run cold. Later some people told me that it was air locked and the air should have been bled out. How can I do that? The oem thermostat has wiggle pins - vents - that will let the air pass through. Maybe I should try that kind of thermostat but it costs more.
