How can I find out if in NJ a rebuilt title certifies the car does not have frame damage?

No it does not certify the quality of the repairs, just that the car was totaled and that the parts on it weren't stolen.

You may get the car for 50% of value, but it will also forever be worth only 50% of any other similar car without a salvage title.

Your best bet is to have it inspected for safety on your own dime.

Wish you had listed the year, make and model of the car. If it has front wheel drive, the sub-frame only extends behind the front bumper to *just behind the front wheels. It's called a uni-body car.

A frame straightening shop or dealer of the cars alignment shop could inspect the car for any frame or suspension arm damage.

What type of frame damage are you concerned about? You can have a car that was in a accident and the frame has been bent and it would be unlikely the repair shop would put it on a rack and bring it back into spec if they can unload it to you and save them the money. And I'd bet the inspection shop is the same shop that repaired the vehicle. Is fifty percent worth it?

Buying a salvage vehicle is a REALLY bad idea, even at 50%. Run. They're nothing but trouble

it wouldn't pass inspection is the frame is out of whack

Hi so don't go there then it really is that simple.

I'm just wondering, in NJ if a car has inspected and passed the salvage inspection and gets a rebuilt title, does this verify the car has no frame damage assuming a collision was the root of salvage? I can get a rebuilt car for 50% of book value and frame damage is the only thing that scares me.
