If it needs programming is that means that car wont start? Or what exactly happens? Thank you all.

Hello

If you have separate Key and Fob

The remote Fob operates the Central Locking. And switches On/Off the alarm. This can also be done by using the normal key in the Drivers door. May need Re-Matching if you take longer than 30 seconds to replace the old battery with the new one.

Depending which make of car you have

Sit in car and close doors

Switch On ignition (Do not start car)

You have 10 seconds in which time yu must

Press and Release Lock/Unlock button.

Locks should Cycle Lock/Unlock to show they are now matched.

Or check Owners Manual first.

It has nothing to do with the immobiliser

The immobiliser reads a chip in the key.

If you have Keys with the Lock/Unlock buttons that you have changed the battery in and it now won't start the car the most common cause is that the chip fell out when you replaced the battery.

Easiest way to check is go to a Big Supermarket and ask them to check if they can read the chip.

This is a tricky question. The percentages say yes it will still work when you just change a battery, however there are some models that will lose the programming if the battery goes dead. If you ever need free self programming instructions or a replacement key fob check us out at www.keylessentryremotefob.com

It normally means the remote locking won't work, and the alarm will sound when you open the door with the key. Once the ignition is turned on the alarm should silence and the car starts as normal. You need to resynchronise the fob with the car's ecu; see the manual for how, or try putting the key in the ignition. switching on (don't start) and hold one of the4 fob buttons in for a few seconds; that works on Vauxhall

no reprogramming needed

It will remain associated to the car and you will consult the owners manual to find what buttons to press when to reactivate it - different ones have different procedures

If it needs programming is that means that car wont start? Or what exactly happens? Thank you all.
