You can't use shelf oil for break in...NOT even Rotella. The ZDDP is not present in Rotella like so many think. Not any more, at least. And...You cannot add a zinc additive or break in concentrate to a shelf oil. The additive packages in the oil are not compatible anymore. Have not been for over 10 years.

You need a dedicated break in oil.

Quadrajet needs to be set up with the right bleeds and jet/metering rod combo or it won't perform.

Why aren't you putting a good solid lifter cam in there..? I would also be putting Vortec heads on there, as well. A 270 cam with say a 110 lobe separation angle is going to be a lazy pig/accelerator. in a 327 without either a power adder or a lot of compression.

For break in at least, for the cam, use a diesel oil, Rotella 10W30 should be perfect. I would just keep using the Rotella. No other carburetor will ever be as good as a well tuned Quadrajet, it was the last word in carburetors.

thank you guys . i will use like penzoil

Hi, a 650 cfm carb should work fine..

good luck
