It's possible that the connections are not working to the heater controls. In older cars, they had wires connected to the turning knobs of the temperature, and also the air adjustment (means to adjust from heater to defrost to floor vent, etc). When you would turn the knob, it would move a strong hard metal wire, which in turn would adjust a lever to change position, and thereby changing the temp or where the air blows.
Sounds like those are not attached properly. Or else the lever which is supposed to move, isn't moving, might be stuck.
You might look under the dash in center of floor, and see if you can see the wires, they're not that hard to spot.
But......if your Nissan has electronic controls, that means there aren't any wires, that when you turn the knob, you're moving an electrical switch, and then the lever changes on its own. Then without anywires, there's nothing you can do, because it's all electronic. Kinda like having an older radio that you have to turn a knob to change stations, but newer ones, you just push a button and the stations changes automatically.
If there is a local garage, you might take it to him to have him check it out, without fixing anything. Might be $50 to just check it out, and then he can give you an estimate of what it might take to fix it. That way you know for sure, without having to spend hundreds of $$.......YET.
Your car has a heater control valve that may be stuck open, or the solenoid that controls it is bad. It is located on the engine firewall.

The dash heater blower switch isn't functioning. Take the car to a Nissan Dealer as they are the only people who have the exact parts to make repairs.
have a 97 Nissan maxima my heat won't go off. Even on cold it blows hot. What can I do? My a/c is fully charged.
