Head gasket blown or head cracked? No mix of oil and antifreeze and no white smoke?

Hi ?,

Has the previous new head gasket been retensioned, or is it a no

need for retourque type.

is the head straight or warped, a straight edge and feeler gauge

might help.

Unfortunately a head off procedure which means spending cash?

Is there black smoke indication too rich fuel / air mix?

Is there blue smoke indication oil burning.

Please do both a wet and dry compression test to rule out

rings or other issues like valves.

General symptoms would be useful to assist thank you.

Best Wishes.

Mars Mission.

It's possible to have a bad gasket or head - only leaking exhaust or compression gasses without water problems.......yet. Will sooner or later fail further. As argus says, a compression check....also use water around mating services to detect leaks while running.

What are your symptoms that make you thing gasket or head are bad?

Is that all we have to work on!

If there is no coolant in the oil, or there is no white smoke, it could be something completely different.

Pull the spark plugs and have a look at the end of them, and whilst they are out, do a compression test.

You tell us nothing about why you think it is a blown gasket
