book labor rate is what you'll be charged. don't have info in front of me but it will be in 7-9 hour range. the transmission shop r+r man usually will do it in 3 all legal. that's how we make our money. recommend transmission shop . nothing against regular garage but most don't tackle them and do take more things off to get transmission out which isn't necessary

I do know the answer to that. You cannot text a mechanic. Therefore the main issue you should be addressing is the texting addiction that seems to rule your life. How many hours of smartphone use and how many text messages have you logged today?

There is a book or manual, that auto mechanics use. It is a "bible" of how long / how many hours to charge, for repairs. A tranny is a BIG job... Probably more than one person worked on it at a time; FYI.
