It will require the fuel tank to be dropped down from the vehicle. It's difficult to say how much it will cost to replace the fuel pump. I would say about $100. It's not very hard to replace. A lift makes it easier verses using a floor jack on the ground.
If, and when you replace the fuel pump, the work will be done by the shop you choose. So go to that shop and get a free estimate. Unless you had the fuel pump tested by a mechanic who then told you it needs to be replaced, you don't know that it need to be replaced. There are at least six other things that would result in the same problems as a bad fuel pump.
Alright. It depends what shop you take it to. But on average a shop labor costs (or hourly cost) is about $80 a hour. Then the fuel part might cost you about $130 to $200. Where auto shops really get you is the hourly cost. I don't know how long it will take for the shop to repair the part. Hope this helped.

A new, high quality Delphi pump is $125 or so, and the labor to drop the tank & reinstall $200-275. A Motorcraft pump costs 3 times more.
Approximate $245
