Ford Focus Mk1 wiper stalk problem?

if your wipers refuse to clear the whole screen in an intermitten stroke then your wiper motor may be faulty ..

You replaced the stalk? Extraordinary. Next time you need to repair something stop and think. Then think some more. Do the diagnosis. Read about how things work. If your car was pulling to the left would you replace the steering wheel?

I'm not trying to be unpleasant but you wasted your time and money by not thinking at all about the cause of the problem. If you want to explore this yourself take the wiper motor off and take it apart. There's a self park track (or probably 2) and either one is broken or worn or the wire has come off. I'd guess the latter if it never parks. It might be as simple as re soldering that. If that's beyond your ability or interest get a used motor from eBay.

But really. Think first.

Hi so parts wear out that is what happens to parts after years of wear.tie to replace it.or scrap the car itself.

The wiper motor return disk/park contacts are bad/worn and not parking the wiper motor properly.

You replaced the stalk

when i push the wiper stalk down to do a single wipe it wont finish the full wipe unless i hold it and then release it at the end of the sequence. its extremely frustrating and have tried everything that i can think of. i have replaced the stalk and still the problem is there.

am i missing something?
