Engine Swap!!!?

Honestly with the money you're going to end up throwing into this car, you might as well get a new one. from expierence saturns aren't very reliable with high mileage. Why swap for an 08 honda motor when you could have the 08 honda

Go out to it tomorrow morning, open the hood, poor gas all over the engine and light it with a match, step back and call 911. Tell them you were trying to get it started. Call your insurance company.

The automatic goes bad, so you want to swap the engine?

That makes no sense.

The manual transmission is easy to install, is inexpensive from a wreck, and then none of the pollution controls have to change. But you need lots of parts, like flywheel, starter, clutch, pedals, etc.

Oh, man... that's a serious problem. No way can you fit something else in there without major surgery. Your only solution is to get the tranny repaired. I was never a big fan of CVT transmissions. It's just asking for trouble. See if the salvage yard has any direct replacements that will fit.

Hi, i have the dreaded 2003 saturn vue with the vti or ctv tranny.. of couse its gone bad. want to keep the vehicle but dont want to have to keep switching the tranny on it over and over. its a 4 cylinder and its awd. my question is, what kind of engine and transmission would be the best fit for that as far as fitment as well as computer programming and wiring? would i be able to put the 08 honda engine used in the newer vue's into my old one? please dont tell me to junk it because that not want to do with it.
