A: There is about a .00001% chance.
Little rough - misfire = unrelated.
Little rough - low compression in 1 cylinder = related
Take your own compression test.
Squirt some oil in the low cylinder and retest. If compression comes up a lot, its the piston rings (unlikely).
Put a can of "Seafoam" in the oil.
If there is a small improvement, or no improvement, it's a burned valve and/or valve seat.
You'd need to remove the cylinder head and get a valve job.
There would be a noticeable increase in power, fuel economy and smoothness.
there are some things that can fix depending on why the low compression is there if it's a small crack in the block or head to the water jacket then there is a product called blue devil and I have use it successfully but if it is a bad or burnt valve then your looking at pulling the head is take it to a and having a valve job done so my suggestion is take it to a reputable shop and have it checked
Silver gray can? Nope doesn't do anything more than regular oil will. For low compression the only thing you can do is fix the problem, whether that be rings, valves or both.
It may just be a waste of $10-$30, but is a lot less than $1000 to fix it correctly. I would give it a try.
In all likelihood it's a bad valve . . . . no snake oil is going to grow a new valve.
Yes, absolutely. It works just as well as penis/breast enlargement creams, spray-on instant hair, and anti-ageing creams.
If you like, I can sell you some magic beans...
All it will do is lighten your wallet.
I just bought an 87 toyota cressida and it has about 150k miles on it. It runs and drives great but does idle a little rough and I'm told from the previous owner that it's due to a misfire. The guy who owned it before me ran a compression test and one of the cylinders gave a low reading. I came across a product that claims to remedy that sort of thing. I want to know if this product works. Answers from experience with this product as well as from any professional mechanic's opinion would really help me. Thanks.
