Does torque rating in most vehicle's brochure is the pure engine torque or does it represent torque after gear box?

SAE numbers are at the crank. That's where the OEM's get their numbers. At the crank, engine as-sold, with all accessories on and running. Thus, modern engines are FAR more efficient in making power than the ones sold in the 60's or 70's, even though the old-timers don't want to hear it.

Old stuff was measured with no accessories on, and headers. 10-20% gain over present day numbers. Change was 1973, and is ACTUALLY the reason the power numbers went down so drastically. Emissions hurt as well, not as much as the net vs SAE measurement method.

Chassis dyno ratings are done in the 1:1 gear ratio.....I.E. Fourth gear of a 4-speed or the Direct gear of an automatic.....

brochure specs are measured directly from the engines' crankshaft. this reduces the losses due to friction of the gearbox and other drivetrain parts.

when you see tuners posting up whp (wheel horsepower) figures, they are measuring with a rolling road/dynamometer.

adter gearbox, since the gearbox can affect torque.

how about the torque rating in common car dyno? does it also represent pure engine torque or gearbox torque?

because from what i understand let say if motor has 10 Nm than after speed reduction gear of 2 the torque after the gear is 20 Nm?
