Does my car tire need patching?

Assuming the hole is in the tread of your tire, not the sidewall, a patch should be successful. Any tire retailer should be able perform the patch for you for around $10, give or take. Have the tire retailer inspect the tire, however, for damage could have occurred when the tire was driven on with insufficient pressure.

The nail/debris went into the tire then came out. It could have been stuck in there for weeks, so there was no leak, and it just now came out.

If the hole is not close to tire edge, at lease 1 inch from the edge of the tire, and not on the sidewall it should be able to be patched. $25 seems fair. I think if they take the tire off and patch from the inside it is better. Not sure on that anymore, but ask them.

For a small hole, you can usually use a tire plug kit available at gas stations. Beware that these kits including patches are designed as temporary (non-permanent) fixes and may void any warrant you may have on the tires.

Thank u All for your answers. unfortunately, it was on the sidewall so i had to replace the tire.

So as i was driving my car, i had a signal that my tire pressure is down. went down to check to find out my front tire is completely down. surprisingly i found the hole and gave it a touch to also find out Air is coming out.. no nail, no small stone, etc.. just a very tiny hole.. Can i be patched or am i gonna get it replaced :/ ?? Also, i inquired about the patching and it costs $25 is this good?
