Does my ECU compensate for increased airflow?

Because your system is MAP based and not MAF based, I don't believe you would see any gains unless you had your car tuned with the new parts. The problem is that the original tune was made with stock intake in place, and with the new stuff on, the ECU won't fuel the engine any differently than it normally would with the stock stuff. Meaning, you need to have it tuned, to change the fueling, and see any gains. Really does depend though.

The ECU automatically sends a message to the injector nozzles to deliver more fuel when needed!

Sorry here but being honest.. Yes you will need to re flash the ECU to take FULL advantage of these mods.. BUT you will gain just about squat even if you did reprogram the ECU.. headers without the full exhaust behind it is like adding a straw to a garden hose.. the intake you bought im guessing is a ram air intake the short little cone things and not a cold air intake.. So installed real word HP is MAYBE 15hp at best.. You wont run lean if the MAF sensor is clean and working properly.. Besides the car Im guessing has near 200k miles and near the end of its life any ways.. Good luck

Hello! I have a 91 acura integra and i just got some new Headers and a new intake! (im excited) :D..... anyways, i was about to install these when i was told that i had to either replace or re program my ECU so that it would add more gas to compensate for the additional air that the engine would receive. then i was told that my ECU would automatically add more fuel if i had increased airflow. im not sure which is true. i dont want to install these for no reason and i definitely dont want to hurt my engine by causing it to run "lean" on fuel... any help?
