Do u think 350 is reasonable to replace a battery and a alternator plus a tow fee?

my car broke down and the guy came to fix it but its 350 for my tow fee (pick up and drop off) my battery and alternator needs to be fixed.

yup thats probably about right, tow is usualy 40 50 battery is 90 alternator is some work to put on and the cost would deped on car but yea that is what i would charge

Yes, very reasonable.

First, I see a problem. You usually don't have a bad battery AND a bad alternator. Sometimes, but not usually. A bad alternator will not properly charge the battery. But you know that. I just changed my battery yesterday, it suddenly didn't want to start the engine. It was dated Oct 2005! An almost 9 year old battery had a really long life!

With the vehicle running, there should be about 14.4 charging volts. If it's 12.5, there is NO charging. If it's 13 point something, it's not enough. Turn the headlights on, and maybe the heater fan. If it drops to 12 point something, the altetnator isn't working. You should get approximately 14.4 volts at idle, with nothing on, and if you turn on some good loads, like headlights and heater fan, should stay at the same voltage, or maybe drop .1 or .2 volts. But should always be 14 point something. If the charging voltage is 15 or 16 volts, the battery is probably injured.

yes
