Your car is sedan made to transport people. It is not a racing anything. What you are proposing is suicidal. Over 5,000 teens die in an average year. They have over 400,000 crashes. Some end up in prison and thousands end up with permanent disabling injuries due to car crashes. No production sedan vehicle are suitable for anything other than its designed purpose. Besides, you are not trained, matured nor experienced, nor certified to even drive yet, in any competitive environment. The reason this car is in the shape you mention is because it has been taken care of properly. Do the same.

In short, no.
If you want a fast sleeper, find a car with a 24V DOHC V6, which depending on the manufacturer will have anywhere from 250-300 horsepower (more if they're turbocharged), or get something with a V8.
The only thing a 4-banger '01 Camry is good for is being used as a cheap, reliably family car. If you want a fast car, look elsewhere.
They race FINE against other four cylinder CAMRYS and HONDAS! They will NOT beat a properly tuned VW FOUR BANGER though, or an AUDI or BMW or BENZ either! This is a COMFORT CAR< well engineered for DURABILITY and NOT for RACING! Get a different car for that issue! BYE NOW! I cannot think of any TURBO gas toyotas either!

Just bought a 2001 toyota camry le 4 cylinder and its in amazing condition only 66 k miles great motor and tranny but ive been looking online and nobody talks about camrys.
Are they good for tuneing? I wanna make this a project car and turn it into a sleeper.
