The only way water can get into the channel that the distributor sits in is a crack inside the engine block So a water jacket would have to burst a hole into it. But you failed to list Make model and year and engine size which is required info if you actually want an answer? Can't help you and neither can anyone else here Take it to a shop for a diagnosis If your engine blocked cracked the only repair is outright replacement of the engine. Can't Give any information without knowing which of the millions of model years on the road today

sorry to burst you bubble there buddy. but water spewing from the distributor is impossible. can't help you until you know what your actually talking about.

very unlikely its distribute you are referring to as coolant isn nowhere near these items. can you post a pic of item in question? then we can try and identify part for you and offer a possible solution. otherwise its garage fix.

you also need to give detail about car e.g. make. model. year .engine size.

I was driving my car home from school yesterday (about 20 minutes) and when I arrived I noticed smoke coming from my engine. I popped the hood and noticed it was not smoke, but steam coming from water on the engine which was SPEWING out of the distributor. The water was spitting out from between the black piece and the silver piece. (Sorry i do not know the part's names). If anyone could give some suggestions to a problem that'd be wonderful. Thank you
