If an actual evac/recharge was done, that is cheaper than what I charged in the past. It usually entails taking all the old freon/oil out (evac) and recharging it with the proper mixed amount; we used to charge $120 for that.
No, that was a reasonable price, especially because of the disposal of freon.
The dye was to check for leaks. The evacuation/recharge was to remove existing fluid and refill. No, you did not get ripped off.
Did you have the knowledge and equipment to add the freon yourself? If not, that was a very reasonable price.
So I just got my A/C fixed...
The guy said that I was really low on Freon.. he ended up charging me $77.00
I was charged for Flourescent Dye & Evacuation Recharge.
was i ripped the **** off or what?... or did he give me something that I couldn't get by just going to AutoZone to refill with freon.
