Could car mechanic be responsible for this problem?

The hose probably has 200,000 miles on it. It's an unfortunate coincidence. Anything can fail on a car with that many miles.

NO when a car has that many miles just about any thing could happen , if never replace any hoses time to check them all

If she thinks the mechanic had anything to do with the hose bursting I'm wondering what she thinks about you. Find a girl friend with common sense this one doesn't have any.

No, in regards to the hose rupturing, with the mileage it has, I would say with all the miles and time the car has, there would not be a fault in the mechanic. This hose ruptured possible due to rot, or just age. The only way the mechanic could be responsible would be to change the hose with a ruptured hose.

"This is not the case is it?"

Of course it isn't, if it was then the hose would have ruptured almost immediately.

My girlfriend had a set of plug wires put in her vehicle that has close to 200,000 miles on it. Well, I had them put on by my mechanic. I trust him. After she drives apx. 90 miles a hose ruptures that happens to be near where they would access the plugs. She's acting like it is my mechanics problem. He probably did something that caused the hose to burst. This is not the case is it?
