Corsa is squeaking horribly. Breaks are NOT applied.?

When the engine is off push or pull the serpenine belt between the two widest pulleys. If it moves more than 1/8 inch, you need a new serpentine belt tensioner mechanism.

When the belt is off the car, spin each accessory pulley by hand to see of any have bad bearings.

Bad CV Joints CLICK when turning.

CV joints don't squeak. They rumble on full lock. It's likely to be a slack auxiliary (alternator) belt.

Noise that get louder with speed and cease when we come off throttle tend to be transmission related.

Check belt and tensioner . Otherwise we can check brake pads and see if anti squeal rings/ shims are not fitted etc.

Inspect the CV joints between the engine and the wheels.

Probably one has a bad boot and the lube has come out.

I think if it's dry enough it can lock up.

it may be dangerous.

As said it is most likely the serpentine belt needs tensioning or if it has been squealing long it will need replacing.

CV JOINTS WOULD HAVE A PRONOUNCED CLICKING MORE ON TURNS.

My Vauxhall Corsa B model 2000, squeaks terribly when driving, it appears to be related to accelaration, becoming much worse when going up hills or fast stretches, sometimes laying off accelerator helps but not always, sometimes bumpier roads might also be where its worse. Its does NOT happen when brakes applied, nor due to steering.

It SOUnds like a squeaky break to my ear, except not constant and instead vibrating in volume.

Anyone with similar problem, have heard various belts, CV pins or even misaligned breaks being slightly on at all times. I don't want to fork out the cash though on something that is not the problem, so want some more ideas before i take it to the mechanic.
