That's a lot cheaper to fix than a worn out clutch; you don't have to drop the transmission.
You have a leak at either the clutch master cylinder or the clutch slave cylinder. Check your clutch fluid first and that will buy you a little time. If you have a oil puddle on the ground under your engine it is your slave cylinder. Neither of these problems is difficult to fix if you know how and have a set of flare nut wrenches.
cable operated? or hydraulic? you can try adjusting, or bleeding.
some have a set of teeth that ratchet up. above the pedal. find out what it has to decide what to try. It makes me want to measure the freeplay, and check the specifications
Assuming a cable operated system, you probably have a broken cable linkage
So yesterday morning i was about to drive my girlfriend to work and as i went to start my car i pushed in the clutch but it went all the way to the floor and wouldn't come up unless i pulled it up. It starts in neutral but if i try and start it from a gear it automatically stalls. I dont think my clutch is the problem. I think it might be the clutch line sor something. I can't put the car in any gear if its on even with the pedal down. Any help? How would i go about fixing it?
