If the label onside the engine compartment and owners manual specification pages says to use 5W-30 that is the engine oil you should be using.
The number before the 'W' is how the oil reacts when it is cold, like freezing cold. If it doesn't get freezing cold where you live, then it doesn't matter. The important things is to never let it run low on oil.
Usee what the owners manual suggest as they are the one who made the car so they would know what's best

I have bought Sept. 2007 Chevrolet spark recently, the owner's manual which I found on GM India website shows 5W30 engine oil I should use for Spark, same time when I see on Castrol website they are recommended 10W30, please help which one and which brand oil I should use for Spark?
