Check engine light while doing burnouts?

Your car is trying to warn you to quit abusing it. Maybe you repeatedly hit the rev limiter the first time. When you get a check engine light you can plug a code reader into the port under the dash and find out what it is. Auto parts stores will loan you a reader. Seriously though, quit abusing your car. Lincoln's are very expensive to repair.

Most cars built past 1996 will save the codes for 100 key cycles.

Yeah but the light isn't on anymore would I still even be able to pull a code?

And its not called abuse, its called having some freaking fun with my car one freaking time.

Who the hell seriously owns a rear wheel drive in a wintery state and doesn't have a little fun with it at least once.

yes the computer would save the code but not for long

if you are lucky, it is related to traction control. have it scaned.

So I have a Lincoln with rear wheel drive and I decided to turn the traction control off and do some burn outs for the first time. My check engine light came on after a while and my car went limp. I turned it off, turned it back on had no issues. Engine light wasn't on after that. Did some more burn outs no issue. But I'm confused why the light came on did I do something wrong is this normal and should I be worried?
