Cheap broken battery terminal fix?

I believe they're called battery terminals, I'm not sure. But it snapped and i need a cheep way to fix it so i can drive it to the mechanic to get it fixed.

do you have vise grips?(if I have to explain how to use the vise grips you should tow it) or better yet fix it yourself and save money cause its not hard to do. cut one side of the terminal and rock it back and forth to snap it. use a piece of wood and drill the other side so there is a hole in the copper now use a new terminal and take off 1 of the 2 bolts and loosen the other. sandwich the terminal between the pieces and make sure the blot goes through the hole you made and tighten both bolts. now put the new terminal on the battery

Here is a cheap permanant fix and you won't even have to go to a mechanic: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail...

Those old style battery terminals are a p&** poor choice. The modern side terminal batteries don't have any problems like that.

Just put a pair of " vice grip " pliers on it to sqeeze the connector tight on the batt terminal on the batt terminal. or go to a auto parts store and buy new battery cable connnector replacement for $4 and put it on yourself.

Easy to do. . you can google you tube videos to see how to do it.

edit : just use what ever you have , like a pair of pliers. Have someone sqeeze the connector tight on the batt terminal as you start the car, then you can drive it. to get a new $4 cable connnector or to the shop. Get creative.

......and you should be able to permanently fix yourself: parts stores carry replacement battery terminal clamps - or at worse a new cable - ez fix.

hose clamp the wires to the terminal it will work temporarily or vise grips just make sure it doesnt touch metal

it didnt snap, it was eaten away by corrosion from your battery.

they make the connections for that situation and they are neither difficult to install or expensive. you may be out $10.00

Positive or negative?
