While turning the key

My car sounds as if it want to start but wont turn over. Just replaced the battery and fuel pump assembly kit. What could it be pls help

If it turns over that should mean the starter is fine. First things first I'd replace the spark plugs. They are cheap and quite easy to replace. If that doesn't work read on. Is it firing or is it just the starter turning over? If it is firing it probably is getting gas. Maybe a computer problem? Also some cars won't start unless they are in neutral/park and/or have the clutch in and sometimes the sensors that tell the car that tell the car this go out. If it is not firing I'd make sure whoever did the fuel pump knew what they were doing and then check you fuel lines and fuel injection system/carb. If you have an older car with a carb try priming it (putting a couple spoonfuls of gas directly into the carb) and if it still won't start take it to a mechanic. Hope this helps!

try getting a code scanner for about 30 bucks they hooked up to your car and then you can check and see what the codes are is your check engine light on? if so a code checker will tell you the code to find out what you need replaced.

most of us here will this be getting off of the limited info we have but it could be anything your starter could be the problem. one of the most common.

You really should include details such as what year and make of vehicle we are referring to. The best guess with limited information would be a problem with the ignition system. But it is really hard to say or guess any further without knowing more details.
