ANSWER:

The battery can't provide sufficient power.

POSSIBLE REASONS THE BATTERY CAN'T PROVIDE SUFFICIENT POWER:

This might be caused by the battery, itself. Batteries tend to fail in about 5 years even if the warranties lasted longer. It used to be that the warranty was only a tool to get you to buy a new battery from the same place that you bought the last battery (so they made warranties longer than the battery would last, expecting the batteries to fail).

Batteries might measure the correct voltage but not be capable of putting out sufficient current. This is because internal resistance increases as the battery ages. Inside lead/acid car batteries, there are 6 cells. A plate might have shorted, making it a 10 Volt battery, rather than a 12 Volt battery. (A 12 Volt batter should read about 13 Volts because each cell produces about 2.2 Volts. Batteries should be tested under a load (to measure their cold cranking amps).

The battery might be fine but merely discharged. If this is the case, you must search for the reason. A possible reason is that the alternator is not charging it. This could be an alternator problem or a voltage regulator problem.

DO NOT DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE CABLE OF YOUR BATTERY WHILE IT IS RUNNING.

Disconnecting the negative cable was a good idea decades ago when cars were made more simply. Modern cars have sensitive electronics (such as Metal Oxide Semiconductors, such as FETs and integrated circuits) that could be severely (and expensively) damaged by voltage spikes. The spikes are created by the alternator and they are removed by the battery.

battery is showing not enough to crank engine but may also be poor solenoid or cable conniptions etc. check all connections clean and tight. try tapping solenoid when cranking

over..if t suddenly springs into life? change solenoid or starter. if it makes no difference change battery.

if we get same condition with new battery? change alternator.

meanwhile carry jump leads or spare? battery with you.

Mark has good advice. You can start it easy with a push in natural then hop in, put it in 2nd or 3rd and pop the clutch. It will start right up.

Pull the battery cable clamps off the battery & clean both the INSIDE of the clamp & the SIDES of the battery posts. Ford's are famous for corroding that area.

You're right however you already did something stupid. Taking the negative cable off the battery puts the alternator into maximum output and removes the battery ballast from the system. Now you may have burnt out the alternator and have run 15 volts or more into your computer! Good luck..you're going to need it.

to begin solution suggestions . your questioning is confusing. Replace Battery first .

You need a new battery. When a battery fails, it can fail quite rapidly. Yesterday it may have had just enough to turn over, before finally dying. If you need to use the car, I suggest you call out an emergency battery service, to get a new one.

Park on a hill (facing downhill) Turn key to ON, release brakes, put in 2nd gear w/ clutch in, wait till rolling 5 MPH, and release clutch. Off you go.

car is 2009 battery is 4-5 years old so it does need replacment but it was fine yesterday.

I disconected the negetive on my battery after it had been running to test if its the alternator and it kept running.

Honestly what i want to know is is there a way for me to get it to turn over and work fine for anotherday so just incase i do something stupid and kill my car while driving(stick shift) around looking for an open garage tomorrow which is a holiday
