Use an electrical tested to check your power that goes to the starter if it is getting power then its your started that is not working if you dont have $ for a new one hit it with a hammer that will make it work

Well, knowing that the battery light has been on, it sounds like your alternator is failing to charge the battery. Time for a new drive belt and alternator

Sounds like a ur ground isn't making good contact with bare metal. Another option might be a bad fuse/ main relay. Third might be your starter might be defective.

Did you clean/tighten conns. at starter positive cable and chassis ground cable? When running, alternator should put out around 14.8V.

No cranking? No power to starter. Check ground strap, possibly key switch defective, can you jump the starter?

Have you checked all of your fluids? Problem could be your ignition.

Dynamo/alternator/generator.

Was on the way home and my car all of a sudden shut off. Tired to turn it back on and nothing. I turn the key and no crank nor click. Replaced battery as it was under warranty and it was a little corroded. Once I cleaned everything that was corroded and the new battery was in I checked all the connections and plugs everything seems normal but car still doesn't do anything when I turn the key. All electrical components on the car still work like normal. The car did have the battery light flicker here and there but was never on for more than a minute. Car has always been taken care of and serviced on time. Checked the belts and they seem fine as well. ( Car: 05 Subaru Legacy. Engine: 06 sti)
