You probably have loose/slipping accessory belt.
It's most likely a loose or dirty belt. Buy a can of belt cleaner at your local auto parts store. Pop the hood of your car, locate the belts and, while the engine is on, spray the belts with the cleaner. Read the directions on the can.
If the screeching only occurs when your engine revs up, or accelerating, your belts need to be tightened. they are slipping.
