yes you can but you usually have to have a basic understanding of a vehicles systems to get it.companys will hire those people as apprentice techs and train them.the easiest path though is to go through a voc tech school.

Buy a Haynes or Chilton's automotive repair and overhaul manual for your specific car at a auto-parts store or book-store and read it cover to cover.

So I know very little about cars and I have always wanted to learn and become very handy when it comes to cars in order to save myself money. However the problem then becomes where do I get the experience? I don't have the money to go experimentin on my own car. Is there a car mechanic shop(s) that hire people and can train them on cars as part of there job?
