If it is low on coolant it will make those sounds. Wait until the car cools down only remove the radiator cap. Check the level. If low refill it. Run the car until it gets warmed up again and drive a real short distance then stop and when cools down enough do the same thing all over again.

rattling)under light to mid acceleration.Not all symptoms will be present.Check for a defective radiator cap also.

It could be just trapped air and needs bleeding. In addition to what everyone else said with head gaskets another sign may be constant random bubbling with the radiator cap off that may smell like exhaust.

coolant in the oil, coolant coming from tail pipe , white smoke

So I've noticed my 63 chevy impala with a 350 small block make a strange bubbling noise that sounds like it's the radiator/coolant. At times it'll do this simply by getting in and sitting in the driver seat other times upon going for a drive and getting back home and shutting off the engine. Now I've read it's possibly a blown head gasket but is there any other possibilities? If indeed it is a blown head gasket what other symptoms are there?
