Car over heating and heater stopped working?

Or it was empty at one time say to replace a bottom hose and "was not refilled correctly" Yeah you can fill it wrong...so only half the engine is full.

So, pull off the bottom rad hose and let all the coolant out. Put hose back on tight. Now undo the upper radiator hose from the radiator so it is still connected to the engine. Fill the hose to the top and reconnect it to the radiator tight. Now go to upper coolant tank, take off lid and fill that tank to the top and screw on the cap. Now there should be another tank on the passenger fenderwall or driver fenderwall. It has a loose fitting lid. This lid pops or snaps off and fill that container3/4 full.

Done like borscht. Drive.(this is not a car from the 70's down so stuff has changed including filling procedure as thermostat is located at the bottom of the motor instead of the top(which is why cars now get 50MPG) Everything will now work.

The heater core is one of (if not THE) highest points in the cooling system and acts a wonderful collector of air and/or combustion gases. If the heater has collected a mass of these gaseous molecules it will no longer be able to function as an efficient transferer of heat.

It would be my guess that the cooling system is very laden with air (improperly filled and bled) or with combustion gases (head gasket leaking). The second case being more likely.

Alas, any missing details that you forgot to previously mention shall render my guess as null and void.

Your heater core is clogged up which is why your heater doesnt work and stops the coolant from circulating like its supposed to to keep the engine cool. One fan is for the radiator and the other is for your ac. If your ac works one fan should come on. The one that isnt working is for the radiator. Change the fan out and the heater core.

maybe the cooling fan that doesnt work has something to do with the lack of cooling?

I have a 92 nissan sentra that over heats within 20 minutes of driving it. The heater also doesn't work anymore if that's related but the ac does. Also one of the engine electric fans don't come on. I changed the thermostat but that wasn't the problem. It doesn't appear to have any leaking anywhere. Maybe the radiators clogged? Please help
