Car making noise when accelerating? what could it be?

Every engine does that. Lol. The harder you push the pedal the louder the car gets. Roary is good. But if you think it's too loud I would advise you look at the exhaust manifold, and the muffler. They get corroded quickly and it can be an easy fix to patch them up. When you take it to the mechanic, thell them that you think the exhaust probably has a hole in it, and don't ask too many questions about how are they going to do the labour. The mechanic will see that and will f*ck your car up with a totally different issue that he created. So watch out and act like you know the problem so he will not mess with you.

Listen to Uncle. Forget about patching a hole, that's just giving a mechanic an extra pay day, you need a new section of muffler. If you paid to have it patched you'd be back in a month to have it replaced.

Some places don't like just fitting one section as removing it can be difficult and they would much rather replace the whole system. Have someone with you who can make an informed decision.

Ask uncle. was it where the exhaust leaves the engine? or underneath??Have your uncle get after it with a flexible tube and a small metal piece of tubing joined together to isolate the source, as you make it act up. (you have to hold the soft end up to an ear.)

Block wheels and power brake may be the action needed.

It sounds like HE heard it... I did not.

Don't run him over because your aunt wont have anyone left to diagnose relatives cars anymore.

Then you would have to stop at walt's.

Last one of them I checked was falling apart at the pipe connection to the catalyst. It was up from below on that one, to allow access, and also verified by soot leak around the flange.

I do not recall if the flange seal cracked and fell out, or if the bolts came apart, or exactly why.

But engine flexing when changing gears (direction) with high idle comes to mind.

That one needed rattles and broken welds fixed throughout the system.

Hope yours is not angry.

Hi this is a worn transmission simple as that after all it is now 13 years old what do you really expect from such an old and faithful friend new performance.

you may need a new tail-pipe.

Hello all, i have a 2001 nissan sentra, and when i accelerate the car makes noise, definetely like a roaring noise, like the faster i accelerate and harder i push my gas the louder it is. But when i release the pedal, the noise stops right away.

Other than that the car is fine, idle rpm is fine, no vibrating steering wheel, passed emissions, oil change every 5 months, brakes are solid, no engine lighhts are on etc...

My uncle said the noise is from the exhaust, aunt said its prolly the muffller. So idk what it could be, im taking it to a mechanic next few weeks cause i live out of town and i dont have time at the moment. Any ideas will be appreciated
