Car keeps dying while driving!?

so it dies, engine trys cranking over to restart but it doesnt start the engine right away? to be honest with you this sounds like one of two things. a bad coil (intermittent works when it wants) or fuel pump relay. same thing... when it goes bad it works when it wants. this is quiet common on many vehicles now days. happens a lot. usualy wait 15 minutes to a half hour and it will start working again...

a test since you think its fuel related... when u turn the key on without trying to start the engine u should hear the fuel pump? u can usualy hear it if ur quiet and turn that dang radio off -.-.

when you have this issue go see if its spark related.. one time the engine wont start again pull a spark plug wire off and put a screw driver inside of it and hold it to metal while some one else turns the key so the engine trys to start. (make sure who holds the screw driver holds it by the handle or u will get shocked) ... if you see sparks jumping then its fuel related.. but if you dont see sparks then its the coil.

id like to add if you see sparks when testing this out that also is a test so you know if its the recalled ignition other people mentioned. cause obviously if ignition not working then it wont be sending fire to the plugs ethier.

simple process of elimination to figure out whats wrong, then your back on the road again. these are very common parts to go bad and cause this.

don't like sounding rude but I personaly think its ethier the fuel pump relay or the coil... I no there was a recall on the ignition but we haven't had that issue in our shop so it must not affect a vast majority of them.... so I am against it sorry.

You need a new ignition switch, the contact set on the back of the ignition cylinder burns out. Honda released a service bulletin for this problem. These cars also had a problem with the pgmfi (main) relay so it wouldn't hurt to replace that but I'm pretty sure your problem is the switch.

In fact, it wasn't a service bulletin, it was a Recall:

It's probably the crank sensor; but, It could be the main relay. To see if it's the crank sensor you need to hook it to a scanner and check the rpms. If it registers that it's working; then it's the main relay. Get back with me and let me know which one it is; if you don't mind.

Probably the fuel filter is blocked. Get it checked over by a proper garage because this fault is potentially life threatening if your engine dies when you are overtaking someone.

new ignition switch

I've asked this question once already but didn't give out that much information on the topic. My car is 1999 honda accord ex v6. I've been having this problem for a while now and it's really bugging me, when I'm driving on the road my car would randomly stop, like the she would die in the intersection, but the weird thing is, is that I have power. I can still hear the radio going off. The car would die and I would try to start it up but wouldn't start. I can hear it it sounds like it want to start but it won't go over. Me and my uncle changed the fuel pump but it wasn't it, we do believe that it's fuel related
